Maison de l'Olivier
This very spacious colombage and stone town house with a sunny courtyard garden and olive tree is located in the heart of the charming and friendly bastide town of Eymet in the southern Dordogne. It's only a two minute walk to the market square and river and there's also the bonus of free street parking. It's a great base for exploring the area with all of its tourist attractions, vineyards and the array of amazing architectural and historical delights, from fairytale châteaux dotted along winding rivers to hilltop villages with magnificent views and glorious sunsets. The surrounding countryside is great for walking and cycling and you can hire bikes locally. You will drive on quiet roads through beautiful countryside with endless vines and fields bursting with sunflowers in the Summer.

The house is not far from the many places to eat and drink in Eymet itself, so you should find plenty to choose from! There's a well stocked supermarket and it's also only a short drive to the larger town of Miramont-de-Guyenne where you will find more to do and see, along with larger supermarkets. Lauzun and Duras with their châteaux are also just a short drive and well worth a visit. From late June through July and August Eymet hosts a very popular weekly atmospheric soirée gourmande and night market where you will see and hear live music accompanied by a selection of regional delights and delicacies, not forgetting a great selection of wines from the local vineyards and châteaux! You will also find atmospheric daytime markets held each day of the week in this area, even on Sundays. There are also more strenuous activities such as canoeing, kayaking, climbing and adventure parks within easy reach of Eymet. For swimmers, there is a public pool, or you could always visit one of the many swimming lakes or river beaches.

At the end of each rental we ask our clients for comments on their stay - we hope that the following comments will help making your choice of property easier

  • The property was fantastic - we had everything we needed. Probably the best property we’ve stayed in throughout the 20+years of visiting France. Eymet is fabulous - everyone is so friendly. Would not hesitate in recommending this property and will likely return in the future. Many thanks (August 2019)
  • Beautiful house set in the pretty village of Eymet. The house was walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants and little shops. And also there are a lot of places to visit nearby , good walking and cycling area and also lots of vineyards to visit nearby and chateaux. Also other villages to visit with shops and bars and of course Bergerac is not far away....(continued)…. (June 2019)
  • continued....The house had 3 good size bedrooms and a very pretty courtyard to have our meals and pre evening drinks before exploring the village. The house had been beautifully renovated recently to a high standard with many quirky features. Would without a doubt return to this beautiful house, it will even cater for your furry friends. The customer service was excellent and accommodated my requirements, in a very friendly manner. (June 2019)
