At the end of each rental we ask our clients for comments on their stay - we hope that the following comments will help making your choice of property easier

  • Just back from a great two-week family holiday. We were 10 in number from 13 to 81years. It’s in a beautiful location in the Dordogne and within reach of so many historical attractions. The accommodation has been well developed and the warm welcome extended to us by Bob and Megan could not have been better. We greatly appreciated the welcome pack and excellent meal provided by Megan. Bob and Megan were always on hand to offer advice. A great family holiday that will live long in our memories. (August 2017)
  • Fantastic location for cycling. We were a party of 8 lads on a cycling holiday, hired both properties and had the time of our lives. The barns have everything you need, eat in or alfresco just brilliant. Bob is very friendly and super helpful, thanks for the lovely meal and cake on arrival. If you're looking for a location for cycling this is it, great roads almost no pot holes, drivers are pretty much all cyclist friendly, we visited some amazing places all by bike 🚴. Thanks again! (July 2017)
(July 2017)
  • Although in a relatively remote location, the Barn was well located for the many historic towns, villages and attractions within a 50km radius, which suited the grandparents in our party. Our teenage children loved the many sporting facilities within a short car ride, canoeing, cycling and swimming. The accommodation was excellent, a quality conversion from its former life as a tobacco drying barn, exceptionally well furnished, plenty of room for the 6 of us and all the facilities we needed.... (July 2017)
  • Continued..There were plenty of books and games provided so I don't think we watched TV once, and with the WiFi reception the youngsters kept themselves occupied on their various gadgets. The hosts could not have been more welcoming, always available and supplied us with a generous welcome pack. Although not intrusive they were always available for our enquiries. This is our 3rd visit to this region and there is still so more to explore so this will be our first choice on a return visit. (July 2017)
  • This is a great place for a family or group to use as a base for touring, each day taking a different route. You do need a car (unless you're cycling) as it's not in a town, but it's near to a number of small towns. The hosts are great in that they provided some basics - bread, home-made cake, butter, jam and condiments so you don't have to go and buy loads of things you'll hardly use. There's a washer & dryer as well as the great kitchen. All in all I recommend this place highly. (May 2017)
  • Enjoyed 10 days here in September with three small dogs and had a lovely time. The welcome pack was fantastic and the meal upon arrival was simply divine. Bob and Megan made us feel most welcome, as they did our three dogs. Our hosts provided us with lots of information about the area and shared their experiences of moving to France, which we intend to do also. Relaxing location, but within easy drive to many great days out such as Domme and Sarlat. Thanks Bob and Megan. (September 2016)
  • Hello, we are a group of five Spaniards that we were in the house of Bob and Megan, in Fajoles, France, from August 1 to 5, 2016. The house is stupendous, very new and very clean. The place is ideal as a center of operations to visit all the medieval villages of the Dordogne and Lot valleys. Megan cooks very well, especially her lemon cake. Bob is a good talker and willing to help with anything at all times. We keep an excellent memory. Esther, Pilar, Lourdes, Ignacio and Pepe. (August 2016)
  • Just returned from a fantastic holiday. The welcome pack was a lovely thought after a long drive and Megan's lemon drizzle cake was beautiful. The house had everything we needed for a self catering holiday, and the kids loved the garden and board games provided, me and my husband are looking at booking again for next year but for two weeks this time as one week in this beautiful house and area just wasn't enough. Thanks for a fantastic family holiday in your stunning house. (August 2016)
  • The villa has everything you need, the owners are lovely people, wine, homemade cake, fresh bread, milk and butter all there on arrival. Stunning views, lovely man-made beach near by, just such a lovely place. Hope to come back again. Xx (August 2016)
  • We had a fantastic time here in the Dordogne. The meal on arrival prepared by Megan was delicious and the welcome pack was gratefully received. The house is really comfortable and has everything you need. We were blessed by the weather and we all enjoyed the attractions in the area. It was great to have Bob & Megan next door and they really helped by providing that local knowledge that makes all the difference. Will be recommending to others and planning to return ourselves. (August 2015)
  • Thanks to Megan & Bob for a lovely place to stay. It is so central to lot of places of interest. You have created a lovely holiday home and the little details you have incorporated really adds to the experience - the pinny for the kitchen, the welcome supplies on arrival, lovely soft towels and the best hairdyer in the world – no need for straightners. So a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and we will definitely be recommending this place to friends & family. (July 2015)
  • Superb home made lemon drizzle cake along with a surprise welcome pack greeted our arrival which was much needed and appreciated after a long journey. We could not ask for more from our hosts who are extremely helpful and kind. We loved our stay here and the peaceful rural setting suited us well. This is a very comfy place to stay and is so well stocked especially the kitchen – more here than mine at home! We really hope you are successful with the gite and hope to return again in future. (August 2014)
  • The house, the decoration and the equipment provided is just right. Quiet and peaceful and when we arrived we were welcomed by our pre-booked 3 course meal + wine which was extremely welcome after driving down from Brittany. The food was delicious and an unexpected bonus was the lovely welcome pack provided by Megan who is so hospitable and welcoming without being in any way intrusive. She has put her special touches to this wonderful gite. I shall be highly recommending this place. (August 2014)
  • Thanks for a fantastic place to stay. Fabulous welcome - especially the lemon drizzle cake!! We have really enjoyed our stay with you. There is so much to see and do. So nice to “come home” to a quiet spacious place to relax in the evening - kids loved it. Will highly recommend to all our friends. (August 2014)
  • Great accommodation, well fitted out, good touches with free wi-fi, i-pod docking & freeview TV. Loads to do – great welcome. The welcome pack with wine and home made cake show that this is more than just a business – this is people who care that we have a good welcome / holiday. We will recommend to others. (July 2014)
  • We have just spent a lovely 2 weeks here with our year old retriever. The gite is a delight - spacious, fully and beautifully equipped. It provided a haven of coolness when the heat & humidity outside became too much. The enclosed garden & decking was ideal for our dog. Having Megan on hand was great - she told us of walks, places to eat and visit and nothing was too much trouble. The piece de resistance though was the meal for us on arrival. It was so welcome and absolutely superb. (June 2014)
  • Really enjoyed our stay here. The house is really comfortable and has way more equipment than our house back in the UK. Having access to some good old British TV in the evenings after a long day sightseeing was definitely a bonus. The local area is great for all kinds of outdoor activities. We did plenty of canoeing, cycling and visiting beautiful picturesque towns like Sarlat. The wi-fi was also reliable for keeping in touch with people. All in all a brilliant holiday. Thank you. (August 2013)
  • We had a great stay in the barn - very well equipped especially the kitchen. It is decorated to a high standard. Thank you for looking after us and making us feel at home. Definitely one of our best holidays. (August 2013)
