Domaine de Gigan - Farmhouse
Beautiful farmhouse located in the gently rolling sunflower-filled landscape of the Lot-et-Garonne within easy reach of Miramont-de-Guyenne, Eymet, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and the many tourist attractions. It's gated and situated in 6.5 acres of fabulous landscaped gardens in a totally private position but just a few minutes drive from the small town of Tombeboeuf which has a boulangerie, butcher, good restaurant, large lake for country walks or fishing and the added bonus of a great 9 hole golf course.

The views from the terraces and gardens are stunning - whether looking north or south to the hill just above the house and the restored windmill of Coulx - particularly fabulous in summer when the fields are carpeted with sunflowers. There are super travertine tiled en suites, decorated with Farrow & Ball paints, Jim Lawrence light fittings and gorgeous soft furnishings. There are also mosquito blinds on the bedroom windows - and all of them upstairs so you can leave your windows open to the breeze at night.

The outdoor space is great for everyone - whether for a lazy afternoon dozing on the daybeds or hammocks or enjoying a game of croquet, badminton or table tennis. There is a good selection of bikes of different sizes for you to use, complemented by a selection of bike helmets. There's plenty of things for the younger ones too, from scooters to a football goal, from a sandpit to a Wendy house and a wooden climbing frame.

The property is fully equipped for babies and small children - cot, high chair, stair gate, videos, books, swing, toys.....!

It's also a perfect base for self guided walking tours, with almost 400 routes available throughout the department. Special interest holidays can also be booked outside of the peak season, such as Pilates, yoga and art.

At the end of each rental we ask our clients for comments on their stay - we hope that the following comments will help making your choice of property easier

  • We were most impressed with everything - the accommodation was excellent and equipment/toys was more than I expected. Fridge space was not enough for 10 people (keeping drinks cool as well) but Prue went out and bought an extra fridge (too late for us but the future tenants will benefit from it). Prue was an excellent owner, on site and nothing was too much trouble for her. Thank you - we enjoyed the house, pool and gardens very much. (July 2016)
